Limited Editions Prints Available

It has been a while since I have been here and updated my blog but what is now occurring lends me to what to share with you what I have been up to.

Lately my photography has taken a turn from concentrating on imagery that is geared to stock to an entirely new are for me, fine art photography.

While not all of my photography is being approached with this in mind a large percentage of what I am producing is in the vein.

These are limited editions of 5. Here is where can see my entire gallery of Fine Art Photography.

A few example of my latest work are below.

SHOOTING WITH KNUCKLEHEADS

I just came in from shooting a bar interior. It was arranged with the owner several weeks ago. But the manager was a real prick; completely disgusted I was there. I wanted him to pull 6 St Patrick's Day streamers off the shelves or let me but it seemed more satisfying for him to do it and complain, grunt, sigh in disgust, and look completely inconvenienced.

The bartender was so hung over @ 1:45 PM she couldn't slice an orange without running to the john to throw up. I couldn't get her fat head off the bar as she came close to passing out several times. I finally said give me 5 minutes and I will be finished. They both looked at me like I was carrying the plague.

It took me 3 times as long as it should have dealing with these two knuckleheads.

It took a lot of self restraint not to say "look you two morons this is for the owner, your boss, so I suggest you get your heads out of your collective ass and jump when I say jump and do what I tell you to make this look good".

Somehow in all this I did get a few good shots. They were glad when I left but not a glad as I was.

Boats, Pier and the Ocean

I have been working on some new images, converting digital files to BW toned imagery.

This is Halong Bay in Vietnam.

The fishing pier in Bradenton, FL.

Again Halong Bay, Vietnam.

An Afternoon Photographing a Power Plant

I recently spent the afternoon near Tampa, FL photographing the Teco Power Plant there. To say the least impressive from the size alone.

After being there for some time it caused me to consider how I use power, how I waste power. We all know it is getting more expensive as is everything else in our day to day lives. Maybe it is time to rethink how we consume not only power but everything in our lives.

New Work

Just a few new images to post. I have a new section...oddly enough titled "Latest Photography". It seems I am venturing out into a new direction for me. I have to admit I love playing with Photoshop.

I have been trying out some new ideas with ACR in my RAW processing. Then working on some added details in PS. The new section on my website has about 20 or so images done this way...well more or less. Each image deserves and gets it's own unique process of course. That should go without saying.

Not all images respond to this in a favorable manor, meaning some images just plain old suck done this way.

What the hay?

I think we need to spread this around as much as possible. I want to know why there is not a huge movement to get this going immediately. I want someone to explain to me why BP and the United States government isn't organizing this now.

BP has only shown us how inept they are as is the case with the President who either doesn't see the importance of what has occurred or is just too callous to care.

This happened on Obama's watch and he is clearly not up to the task of taking care of it like these good ol' boys are. But I digress and do not want to make this a political issue.

Let's just clean it up!

Details

I admit it! I have not been here and posted anything in a while. I am in the midst of pre-production on a new project and it is taking up a lot of my time. Then of course there is time spent with my wife and daughter and trying to pick up some new ideas about photography.

Thus some new images I have just finished using some techniques I learned watching Calvin Hollywood. If you are not familiar with his work I suggest you search him out and watch some of his Photoshop tutorials on youtube.
