This image was made in the fall a 2017 and originally edited for a very normal stock travel photograph. Today I brought it into Photoshop and edited in a new way to give it more of an abstract feel.
The Photographic Art By Skip Nall Blog will showcase my personal photography as well as my abstract paintings done in Photoshop. I will also share thoughts on the world of photography and art and from time to time.

Steel Wool
The first image was created from a painting done in red and blue in Photoshop with 7 layers of various blending modes. The base layer is an old baking sheet. Once the final painting of the abstract was done I used Silver Efex Pro to change it to the BW image

Hoi An Boat
This image was photographed in Hoi An, Vietnam in 2006 and I recently re-edited in a series I am working on the produce more of a painted look when printed as well as the feel of looking through old negative film.
This particular image has four layers, one of which is an old baking sheet.
Red Shutters
Yes, I did take a slight hiatus from posting to my Blog. As a single dad my daughter who is about to turn 13 came before anything else. Now with her being close to grown, or at least that is how it seems I have gotten back to producing new images and re-editing to older ones for fun.
This is from a series of images I originally photographed in Vietnam in 2006 and recently have re-edited to produce a more abstract image as the final result.
The image has ten layers using various blend modes to come up with this result.
It is titled Red Shutters.
